About Me Page

Hi, my name is George Foster

I am 16 years old, and I was born in California and moved to Massachusetts during Covid in 2020, and have been here ever since. Throughout this time, I have lived in the east and the west, with people of different religions, cultures, politics, and socio economic backgrounds which I like to believe have enriched my understanding of the country and helped me connect with my favorite subject, the past. Since I moved, and even for a time before, I’ve had a love for history, particularly American history. Whether it was movements for Civil Rights, wars for freedom and wars for conquest, economic crises, and tales of politicians coming into their own I have always found an interest in it and recognized its importance as an event that shaped the present and must not be forgotten. I learned these things not just from teachers, but from documentaries, museums, educational videos, books, and on the rare occasion people who actually lived during those times. It has always been interesting to know these things. But one does not know things just to know.

In my blog “Unique Studies of America” I will be exploring many topics related to US history and culture. I will delve into events you may not know about, or events that you do know but told in a new light. I will examine and analyze the interests and opinions of Americans in the past and present. And occasionally I will ask the question of “what if”, examining how things may have been different if certain events changed for the better, or for the worse. I do this not only because I enjoy the stories and lessons of history, but because I find it imperative to analyze, share, and compare for other’s own knowledge and our own collective understanding.
